Welcome to our website. We are Cleaner & Greener,
a non profit organization based in the Endless Mountains. Our goal is to create a new generation of people that are environmentally responsible. Through sponsorship,volunteerism and education we intend to make the Endless Mountains Cleaner and Greener. We work with youth groups, scouting groups, school groups and other organizations young and old. We schedule and sponsor roadside litter pick up events as well as collect recyclables. recycling center located on Route 92 S. The center is reached by entering at the Tunkhannock Township Municipal Building. The center is open from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. From 3:30 pm on Friday to 7:00 am on Monday, containers are available outside the gates for the convenience of residents who wish to bring recyclables over the weekend. Brown Refuse Removal - Offers curbside recycling services for Laceyville Boro, Lacey Street, Indian Hill, Wyalusing Boro, Mehoopany & Forkston, Meshoppen Boro, Route 6 to and including Westgate & Washington Park. Clean recyclables accepted Monday through Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM & Saturday 7 AM to 12 PM - Free of Charge. We follow the Wyoming County Recycling guidelines. Stats for May 2012 :
Collected over 185 bags of litter, had 60 + volunteers, covered over 25 miles of roadways in 6 hours including 2 boroughs. Thanks so much to all the volunteers.Without you it couldn't happen. ====================================== Other News Please join us April 20th at the Grovedale Winery grounds for our E- Waste event. We will be accepting electronics as part of the Earth Day celebration. It is from 10:00 to 2:00pm. We will be accepting the following: Answering Machines,Cell Phones,Copiers,Fax Machines, Keyboards,Laptop & Desktop Computers,Monitors,Microwaves,Modems,Flat Monitors,Pagers, Printers, Radios & Stereos, Telephones,Televisions and VCRs. =============================== Spring Clean Up Our upcoming clean up event for this year will be May 4th 2013 starting with sign in at 8:45. Some quick thoughts and organizing and then on the road by 9:00. The location to meet and sign in will still be at the LaceyvilleFirehall. Gloves,vests,amd garbage bags will be provided as in the past along with light morning refreshments and lunch. We will be doing Laceyville,Wyalusing and Route 6 in between along with Meshoppen this year and Route 6 in between. We had a great turn out last year and alot of fun. We hope to see everyone and their friends and their friends friends. Thanks again to all who help make Cleaner and Greener possible. A Riverwalk trail in Laceyville that will be a half mile long and will loop users onto Main street. We are seeking volunteers.
